Welcome to Centers and Squares

As a Cambridge real estate agent, the city squares of Cambridge, Somerville and Medford and the town centers of Arlington, Watertown and Belmont, Massachusetts are my home turf. And as a lifelong New Englander who’s lived within twenty miles of Boston most of my life, I can introduce you to other nearby towns as we search for your new home. If you’re planning to sell your home in Cambridge, MA or nearby you’ll find plenty of info about the home selling process here too. Questions? Send me an email or call me at 617-504-1737.

Somerville Tightens Recycling Regulations

Recycling in SomervilleThe City of Somerville has cracked down on recycling requirements.  Get it right or you’ll be bringing a full bin back into the house!

Prices paid for recyclables have plunged and recycling materials contaminated  by banned items can cause entire loads to be rejected by the recycling facilities.

Somerville Recycling Regulations

Banned Items:

  • Plastic shopping bags are not allowed in your bin or as a container for other recyclables.
  • Dirty food containers such as greasy pizza boxes
  • Styrofoam

Allowable Items:

In your blue bin place:

  • Glass containers
  • Plastic containers marked #1 – #7
  • Metal cans and containers
  • Milk and juice containers

In a PAPER bag or tied with string placed NEXT TO your blue bin:

  • Cardboard
  • Mixed paper
  • Newspaper

Many local supermarkets accept plastic shopping bags for recycling.  I know Foodmaster does because I noticed their sign the other day.  Posting on the free section of Craigs list is often a good way to get rid of styrofoam peanuts or large amounts of cardboard moving boxes.
